The San Francisco 49ers have two of the most dynamic and explosive players on Earth in their ranks.
One is Christian McCaffrey, who’s fresh off leading the league in rushing yards, all while also being an elite threat in the passing game.
The other is Deebo Samuel, the catalyst of this offense, and someone who can line up everywhere on the field and still make an impact.
As great as McCaffrey is, Samuel might be the team’s most important offensive piece, and it’s even more evident when he’s not around.
That’s what one can conclude from a graphic shared on Twitter by Get Up.

The graphic shows that the Niners average a league-best 7.1 yards per play when he’s on the field, as opposed to 5.6 when he’s not.
They also average a league-best 5.6 yards per rush with him out there and 3.6 yards per rush when he’s not there.
Last but not least, the QBR drops from 74 to 65 when he’s not on the field.
Samuel had to miss most of the NFC Divisional Round game vs. the Green Bay Packers after injuring his shoulder, but the team was still able to get by.
His status for the NFC Championship Game vs. the Detroit Lions is still up in the air, and we should get more updates later in the week, but he sounded optimistic about his availability after the win.
