Through nine weeks, the Baltimore Ravens are looking like the biggest threat to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl as they’re playing some of the best football in the league.
The Ravens offense has finally found its groove as the receivers have gotten healthy and Lamar Jackson’s got a better grasp of offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s system.
Baltimore is getting another MVP-level campaign from Jackson who looks far more comfortable throwing the football, but he isn’t the only reason why the team is humming at this state of the year.
The Ravens’ defense has been elite on all three levels of the field and is suffocating opponents every week.
When taking a closer look at the Baltimore defensive unit, fans can see just how dominant they’ve truly been via Sarah Ellison of Ravens Vault.
Ravens defense leads the NFL in each of the following categories:
No. 1 in points per game (13.8)
No. 1 in offensive TDs allowed (9)
No. 1 in sacks (35)
No. 1 in yards/play (4.1)
No. 1 in red zone percent (33.3%)
No. 1 in QB rate (69.7)

It’s almost hard to believe, but the Ravens’ defense leads in so many important metrics that they seem like a shoo-in to win the AFC North crown.
Baltimore has several young stars like Odafe Oweh, Roquon Smith, Patrick Queen, and Kyle Hamilton leading the way and veterans like Jadaveon Clowney and Marlon Humphrey to provide some stability and support up front and on the backend.
The Ravens are fortunate to have so many playmakers on the field at once, and Week 10 will be an exciting challenge for them and the fans as they go up against the Cleveland Browns.
Like Baltimore, Cleveland features an amazing defense in their own right and it’ll be interesting to see which team comes out on top.
