The Denver Broncos faced plenty of criticism last season, and rightfully so.
Surprisingly, Rusell Wilson was at the forefront of the critics and mockery, as he had the worst year of his career, and the fact that they had just signed him to such a big contract extension only made things more concerning.
Now, the apology should be as loud as the disrespect was, as the former Super Bowl champion has turned back the clock and is playing some good football as of late.
As a matter of fact, NFL insider James Palmer recently pointed out that Wilson is currently 10th in completion percentage (67.9%), second in TD-INT ratio (18-4), 4th in passer rating (104), 2nd in game-winning drives (3), and tied-first for fourth-quarter QB comebacks (3).
Russell Wilson 2023 season:
Completion % – 10th (67.9)
TD – INT Ratio – 2nd (18-4)
Passer Rating – 4th (104.0)
GW Drives – T-2nd (3)
4th QB Comebacks – T-Most (3)— James Palmer (@JamesPalmerTV) November 16, 2023
Of course, perhaps this is still not enough, considering all the money he’s making and everything they had to give up to get him, but we cannot ignore the fact that this team is playing much better as of late.
The Broncos are one of the hottest teams in the league right now.
They’re riding a three-game winning streak, their defense has been lights out, and they’re just one game away from the Wild Card.
Russell Wilson looked like a washed-out quarterback last season, but if he keeps this up and the Broncos continue to win at this rate, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him cracking the podium and becoming a top-3 MVP candidate for the remainder of the season.
