The Pittsburgh Steelers were hoping to take a giant leap forward last season when it came to the offense, as they hoped that starting quarterback Kenny Pickett would become the player they hoped he’d be when they drafted him with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, instead of the offense being a strength for the Steelers, it became the team’s biggest weakness as Pickett was unable to develop into the star they were hoping for under center, resulting in the team trading him to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL offseason and firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada during the regular season.
With offense being a major concern for the Steelers heading into a crucial 2024 NFL season, the team has gone all out in its attempt to right the ship on that side of the football, resulting in the team signing veteran quarterback Russell Wilson and trading for Justin Fields.
Since the offense has been a primary focus for the Steelers during this offseason, the team has also addressed other areas to improve in, like at kicker, with the team recently signing Matthew Wright for another stint with the team, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.

This will be the fourth time the Steelers have brought in Wright after he went undrafted back in 2019 and spent some time in the XFL.
Wright has only missed a total of seven field goals (40-for-47) in his career and hopes to be able to stay in Pittsburgh on a long-term basis this time around.
