After another mediocre season, which could’ve easily ended with a playoff berth in the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers punched their ticket to the postseason only to lose on the road against a much better Buffalo Bills squad led by superstar quarterback Josh Allen.
Even though the Steelers were able to make the playoffs despite having a forgettable season, which was a nightmare offensively, Pittsburgh’s brass appears to be getting frustrated with the same results on an annual basis.
There was some speculation that longtime head coach Mike Tomlin could be on the hot seat in Pittsburgh or that he would want to move on, but that didn’t turn out to be true, as he let it be known he wants to return next season and got the support of the front office.

Art Rooney II said he believes Mike Tomlin is the right man for the job because of his ability to connect with players — something he’s shown since the day they hired him.

The real problem with the Steelers seems to be at the quarterback position as well as at offensive coordinator, as the team was awful on that side of the football this season, resulting in the team parting ways with Matt Canada during the regular season.
Along with firing their offensive coordinator during the season, second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett didn’t appear to be the answer under center, which means the team could pursue other options during the NFL offseason, whether that’s another rookie or a veteran in NFL free agency.
