While the Pittsburgh Steelers have some issues and question marks, they had a solid season by finishing with a 10-7 record and making it to the playoffs.
Their passing game wasn’t exactly impressive, but they have multiple stars on defense, including defensive lineman Cam Heyward.
Heyward was banged up this season — he missed several games due to a groin injury — and per Nick Farabaugh, he just had a procedure.

Heyward isn’t quite the force he used to be very recently — he had 2.0 sacks, six tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits this season compared to 10.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 23 quarterback hits in 2022.
Prior to this season, he had been named to the Pro Bowl six consecutive times, and he made it onto the All-Pro First-Team in 2017, 2019, and 2021.
Heyward was the No. 31 pick in the 2011 draft, and he has spent his entire career with the Steelers thus far.
The team won 10 games in 2023 largely thanks to the defensive side of the football, and it has deficiencies to address on offense if it is to win its first playoff game since the 2016 campaign.
The team has a sizable hole at the quarterback position, but also has some holes on defense, including in the secondary and at inside linebacker.
The Steelers will have the No. 20 pick in April’s draft, and while they may not be able to select one of the top prospects in this year’s draft crop, they could end up getting someone who could perhaps be the heir apparent to the aging Heyward.
