The Philadelphia Eagles weren’t able to finish the season on a high note.
They collapsed after a 10-1 start to the campaign, and they weren’t able to right the ship later in the playoffs.
However, despite all that, Stephen A. Smith still believes that Nick Sirianni is the best head coach in the NFC East division.
Talking on “First Take,” the pundit stated that Sirianni should get a pass for this season.
“The brother is 34-17 as a head coach,” Smith reminded everyone.

He pointed out the fact that the Eagles lost both their offensive and defensive coordinator to head coaching jobs in the offseason, not to mention the fact that Jalen Hurts was injured for more than half of the year.
On top of that, his secondary lost plenty of talent due to either free agency or injury.
Smith also pointed out that the Eagles replaced their offensive coordinator with Kellen Moore, who probably felt like he should’ve been the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, not Mike McCarthy.
Judging by his past with the organization and how familiar he is with McCarthy and his offense and preference, Smith believes no offensive coordinator will be more motivated to beat one team than Kellen Moore with the Cowboys.
Add the loss of Dan Quinn to that mix, and that’s why Smith doesn’t see any other head coach in the NFC East being in a better position than Sirianni.
Of course, this makes perfect sense.
Then again, knowing the Eagles’ front office, he won’t get the benefit of the doubt for much longer if he doesn’t turn things around early next season.
