The Denver Broncos are playing much better so far this season.
Then again, it would be difficult for them to be any worse than we saw last season.
Denver had a 5-12 record and was forced to fire first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett before the year was over.
Outside of Hackett, the player who deserved the most blame is quarterback Russell Wilson.
He had the worst season of his professional career but has started to make amends for that this year.
Wilson is playing better this season under new head coach Sean Payton.
Still, he is far from the elite quarterback we remember from his Seattle days.
But, Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton believes Wilson deserves an apology from everyone who hated on him last year.
Stephen A. Smith does not agree with that sentiment, via Dov Kleiman.

Smith mentioned how Wilson’s play last year was deserving of the criticism.
Also, he mentioned how the Broncos are still not having a good season this year.
They are 4-5 and still not in the playoff picture.
No one should be apologizing to Wilson given how he has played over the last year-and-a-half.
He is held to a higher standard than what we have seen from him.
The current play of Wilson is not good enough to get Denver to the playoffs.
Once Wilson accomplishes something significant in Denver, then people will consider apologizing.
But for now, Wilson and the Broncos are not deserving of it.
