Tennis pro Alex de Minaur’s affection for his fiancée, WTA professional Katie Boulter, is seemingly boundless. The couple, who got engaged last December, made their happy announcement during the off-season. Boulter subtly hinted at the engagement on Instagram, showcasing a beautiful gift from the world’s eighth-ranked ATP player. Now, as the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) undergoes a significant rebranding, this cherished gift is again in the spotlight.
The WTA’s iconic purple logo, first introduced in December 2020, has been replaced with a fresh green one, marking a new era for the organization. The previous tagline, ‘For the Game’, has been replaced with the rallying cry, ‘Rally the World’. This milestone was celebrated with clips featuring top female tennis stars from across the globe, including Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Ons Jabeur, and Elena Rybakina.
Among these global tennis stars, Britain’s Katie Boulter also stood out. The WTA’s official Instagram account shared a series of photos featuring the world’s 26th-ranked player. One particularly intriguing photo shows Boulter posing with a tennis racket in hand, a striking silhouette against the backdrop. On a closer look, a shiny object can be seen on the ring finger of her left hand – none other than the engagement ring from de Minaur.
De Minaur, who made it to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Australian Open, was evidently thrilled to see his fiancée wearing the ring with such poise. He expressed his joy with a simple heart emoji, a testament to his love for Boulter.
Interestingly, despite their mutual passion for tennis, their first meeting was not on the court. Boulter recounts their first encounter in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, stating they bumped into each other early in the morning and ended up grabbing a coffee. “From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul,” Boulter said.
Their relationship dates back to March 2020, at the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being physically apart due to the lockdown, they managed to build their relationship through virtual meetups on FaceTime. De Minaur emphasized the importance of Boulter’s companionship, stating it brought him a sense of peace.
The couple went public with their relationship a year later, on their first anniversary in March 2021. Boulter shared with Tatler that they are on the same wavelength when it comes to their priorities, with tennis being their primary focus.
Their busy schedules often keep them apart, but they ensure to make each other feel special. Boulter’s sweet birthday message for de Minaur on his 26th birthday earlier this month is a perfect example.
De Minaur has been actively participating in tournaments this season, including ATP Rotterdam and the Qatar Open. On his birthday, Boulter celebrated him with a heartfelt Instagram post, filled with cherished memories. De Minaur responded with a picture of him holding a birthday cake, humorously stating he’s “Getting older but not wiser”.
Their bond was recognized when they won the ATP Social’s ‘Couple Goals’ award in November last year. This tennis power couple continues to inspire many with their love story both on and off the court.
