We probably don’t have to tell you this, but baseball is a game of firsts.
There is always a first time for everything.
For example, a player hit 40 home runs and stole 70 bases in the same season for the first time: Ronald Acuña Jr.
Records are meant to be broken, and things are always bound to change in MLB: no team dominates for decades, and no organization is bad for such a long time either.
The AL East illustrates how competitive the league can be.
Most of us got used to the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox dominating the division, and to the Baltimore Orioles routinely finishing fourth or fifth.
But baseball is changing, as the Orioles have now evolved into an elite organization and so have the Tampa Bay Rays, although the latter have been excellent for longer.
This shift has sent the Yanks and Sox to the bottom places.
“The Orioles and Rays have never finished the regular season as the top two teams in the AL East. The Red Sox and Yankees have never finished as the bottom two teams in the AL East. Both of those things will happen for the first time since the division was established in 1969,” The Athletic MLB tweeted.

There is always a first time.
The O’s and Rays will finish as the top two teams in the AL East and will fight for a World Series title.
The Toronto Blue Jays are trying to make the postseason via the Wild Card, too.
The Yankees and Red Sox?
They will be watching on TV, and will try again next year.
