With only a one-game lead in the AFC South heading into a Week 14 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t have much room left for mistakes this season.
Getting a win over the Browns on Sunday won’t be easy, but now the Jaguars will have to attempt to get a victory without the help of one of their top wide receivers, Christian Kirk.
On Friday, Jacksonville announced that they have placed Kirk on the team’s injured reserve list, meaning he will miss at least the next four games on the Jaguars’ remaining 2023 schedule (via Adm Schefter on Twitter).
Jaguars placed WR Christian Kirk on the injured reserve list due to his core injury. He’s out a minimum of four weeks.

Kirk’s 57 catches this season are currently the most by a Jaguars wide receiver, and they are the second-most on the entire team, behind only tight end Evan Engram.
Kirk joined Jacksonville in 2022 after spending his previous four seasons in the NFL as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
During his first year with the Jaguars in 2022, he finished with single-season career-highs in catches (84), receiving yards (1,108), and receiving touchdowns (8).
Not having Kirk for the final stretch of the 2023 season will certainly make things more difficult for the Jaguars, but luckily, they have a number of other offensive playmakers they can turn to.
Guys like Engram, wide receiver Calvin Ridley, and running back Travis Etienne should be able to make up for the absence of Kirk during the team’s next four games.
The timing of the injury certainly isn’t the greatest, but Jacksonville should still have a good chance at leaving the field with a win this weekend when they take on the Browns.
