The Denver Broncos had an awful first half to the 2023 NFL season, with the team looking like an absolute mess and seemingly a continuation of the previous season, even with the addition of head coach Sean Payton.
Even though the team still looked like a trainwreck, losing five of it’s first six games, including giving up 70 at home to the visiting Miami Dolphins, Denver did start to turn things around, with the Broncos winning six out of their next seven games.
Ultimately, Payton was able to get this team on track and in playoff contention in the AFC, which was the plan all along, but then things got rocky in the final stretch, and superstar quarterback Russell Wilson’s future with the team came into question once again with the team benching him.
With Wilson finishing out his second season with the Broncos on the bench, many believe that his time in Denver may be over, as the two sides could figure out a way to part ways during the NFL offseason.
Now that the season is officially over, Wilson seems even closer to leaving Denver after this recent report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN via Dov Kleiman.
Very few around the #NFL expect Russell Wilson to return to the #Broncos next season, per @JFowlerESPN

One thing that Wilson did prove over the course of last season was that he can still play, even though his days as an elite quarterback in the league may officially be over.
That said, there are bound to be some suitors for his services once the dust settles with the Broncos during the offseason.
