The Washington Commanders are going to go through a major overhaul.
HC Ron Rivera entered the season on the hot seat, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the team part ways with him even before the end of the season.
And judging by Sam Howell’s performance vs. the New York Jets and how Jacoby Brissett was able to bring the team back into the game, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the young QB also getting benched for the final stretch of the campaign.
So, with all the speculation about the Commanders and their coaching staff, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reports that the Kansas City Chiefs could look to bring OC Eric Bieniemy back to the team for the playoffs if he gets fired before that.
“Bieniemy might be the one the Chiefs need. If he becomes available after Week 18, the Chiefs should consider bringing him back in an effort to get things back to the way they’ve been,” Florio said.
The Chiefs miss Eric Bieniemy. If Washington cleans house after Week 18, could Bieniemy be back in KC for the playoffs? https://t.co/2apyHw1ALF

The Chiefs have deeply missed Bieniemy’s offensive expertise, limping their way to the postseason mostly thanks to their defense.
They still have a subpar wide receiver group, and no one’s going to be able to change that at this point in the season.
But bringing back one of the best offensive minds in the game should be of help for Andy Reid’s team, especially considering he’d be a massive upgrade over Matt Nagy.
The Chiefs don’t look like the same offensive juggernaut they’ve been throughout the course of the Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes era, so maybe Bieniemy’s importance to the offense was much more than what they wanted to make it out to be.
Of course, this is just wishful thinking, but we shouldn’t rule it out.
