Tom Brady and Bill Belichick led one of the greatest sports dynasties of all time with the New England Patriots for two decades.
Their reign included six Super Bowl titles and a plethora of playoff wins before it inevitably ended in 2020 when Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during free agency and won his first championship away from the Patriots.
The relationship between Brady and Belichick has been much discussed, but Brady told ESPN’s Pat McAfee on Monday that he had nothing but respect for Belichick and that a lot of the issues that popped up in the media at the end were not even true.
“My respect for Coach Belichick is pretty well-documented,” Brady said. “He was an incredible leader and coach for our team. I tried to do my best every single day that I took the field, I knew that he did the same thing. And I think that’s why I respected his coaching so much.”

Brady and Belichick could go down as the greatest to ever do it in their respective fields – Brady as a seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and Belichick as one of the most successful coaches of all time.
Their legacies are also intrinsically tied together because of how they won so much during their time in New England.
And when all is said and done, both will likely be first-ballot Hall of Famers when their enshrinement times come up.
