If someone can talk about the NFL, that’s Tom Brady.
When the most accomplished player in league history talks, the rest of us should just be quiet and listen to what he has to say.
That’s why Commissioner Roger Goodell might not be thrilled with Brady’s latest statements, as he pretty much put the league on blast.
In his appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion claimed that there’s “a lot of mediocrity” in today’s game.

He stated that coaching isn’t as good as it used to be, and player development isn’t much better either.
Brady stated that the new rules have allowed bad habits to develop, adding that the players just don’t focus on the fundamentals anymore.
He claimed that the new rules would’ve made it impossible for players like Ray Lewis to make an impact on the game because every single one of his hits would’ve been a penalty.
He also stated that it’s not up to defensive players to protect offensive players and that offensive players should know how to do it on their own, which is one of the fundamentals of the game.
Brady claimed that he didn’t do certain things depending on the rival because he knew he had to protect his guys, and that’s the way the game should be played, not with all the regulations.
The biggest irony is that Brady, like all QBs, actually benefited from these rules.
However, that also makes his statement even blunter.
