The NFL Combine is always an exciting time for prospects to show off for teams both on and off the field.
The dark side of this process is sometimes the medical evaluations reveal troubling information, which is now apparently the case for Texas A&M wide receiver Ainias Smith.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that doctors discovered a stress fracture in Smith’s left shin.

Smith will not be working out in Indianapolis due to the injury and will seek help from a specialist next week, according to Rapoport.
The 22-year-old fifth-year senior is coming off a career-high 53 receptions for 795 yards and will unfortunately not get the chance to show off for scouts in Indianapolis.
This injury is potentially damaging to Smith’s draft stock, as he is a player who could have truly benefited from a strong combine performance.
Smith encountered injuries and quarterback inconsistency over the last two years with the Aggies and suffered a season-ending broken right leg in 2022.
He has played with seven different quarterbacks since 2021 and has been projected as an early pick in Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
Many scouts are citing Smith’s potential as a punt returner after averaging 9.8 yards per return in college.
One team to keep an eye on is the Miami Dolphins, whom Smith has already met with.
Miami has a major need for receiver depth, with Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, Chase Claypool, and Robbie Chosen all hitting free agency, as well as Cedrick Wilson in a contract year after two subpar seasons.
It is worth noting Miami used a third-round pick on De’Von Achane last season, a former Aggie and close friend of Ainias Smith.
