The Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC West again and earned the No. 3 seed in the conference, so they will host the Miami Dolphins during Wild Card weekend.
The reigning Super Bowl champions haven’t looked like themselves and aren’t the favorite to repeat, though anything can happen in the postseason.
The Chiefs have the biggest advantage on the field with Patrick Mahomes, though the team needs him to be even more amazing than usual given the state of the offense.
The wide receiver corps is the weakest it’s been since Mahomes took over, but the biggest concern has been Travis Kelce who hasn’t been the all-world tight end he usually is.
Kelce failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards this season and on the field he looked a step slower.
There were some rumors that Kelce could hang it up after this season, but he is reportedly returning for the 2024 NFL season via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“My understanding is he does in fact intend to play next year,” Rapoport reported.

Kelce has been in the media headlines all year because of his romance with Taylor Swift, but it shouldn’t take away from his desire to continue playing football.
While he might not be dominating the offense, Kelce remains a valuable member of the team and is still Mahomes’ go-to option in the passing game.
It remains to be seen how effective Kelce can be at this stage of his career, but Kansas City could use all the help they can get this season and beyond.
