Tight ends always stick up for one another, and that’s no different when it comes to 3-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce.
One of the best his position has ever seen has a new workplace competitor, and Travis is standing up for his guy.
7-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is joining the FOX broadcast booth this season as a color commentator, and one of the guys who is taking the hit due to his presence is current commentator and former tight end Greg Olsen.
Travis Kelce addressed this on his podcast “New Heights” by saying: “I love my guy Greg Olsen, they kind of did him dirty over there at FOX, but I mean, it’s Tom Brady, what can you do, right?”
Both Travis and his brother Jason Kelce spoke highly of Olsen’s color commentary and pointed out how since tight ends have such a unique job as a receiver and a blocker, it gives them an interesting perspective on the game that translates well to the booth.
Brady will be calling the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game in Week 1 and has seemingly already supplanted Olsen as FOX’s top color guy.
Jason will be joining ESPN as well this upcoming season as he signed a multi-year deal to join “Monday Night Countdown,” as more and more big-name players continue to head straight to the booth from the gridiron.
Brady has big shoes to fill, as Olsen has quickly become one of the fan favorites on color commentary and is considered one of, if not the best in the business right now.
