Heading into this past college football season, the University of Colorado decided to make the bold move to hire NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders as the program’s new head coach.
Although Sanders had some success as the head coach of Jackson State, Colorado is another beast entirely, with the best competition in the country set to take on the Buffaloes in 2023.
Even though Sanders got off to a good start, winning his first three games as head coach, including a win over TCU, which created a lot of hype and buzz around the country for the university, Colorado fizzled out quickly as the team won only one more game for the rest of the season.
Despite a very disappointing end to his first season with the Buffaloes, some have high hopes for the immediate future of the program, as they believe Sanders will right the ship next season.
Apparently, superstar tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is one of Sanders’ supporters, as he believes the head coach will go undefeated next season via DNVR Buffs.
“Undefeated. I’m taking Prime every single time,” Kelce said.

It’s uncertain how serious Kelce was making these comments about Sanders, but he does seem sincere in saying that Coach Prime will not lose a game in 2024, which is bold, to say the least.
Only time will tell if Kelce is right about Sanders and what he can do in his sophomore season for Colorado and their program that desperately needs to turn things around.
