The San Francisco 49ers have owned the Dallas Cowboys lately.
That’s why analysts and fans want to see how Mike McCarthy’s team fares against the Niners this season before giving them the nod as contenders or not.
Fortunately for the Cowboys, they have a new secret weapon to help them get ready for the big game, which is Trey Lance.
When asked about his contributions to help the team get ready for that showdown in the Bay area, Lance stated that he’s doing whatever he can to give them a hand, adding that the Cowboys already have a solid understanding of the Niners’ offense from all the preparation they’ve done to face them in the past two years (via Jon Machota).

Lance also stated that he’s trying to make the most of every single rep he’s getting with the scout team to try and get better and get a hold of the Cowboys’ offense.
Notably, Dak Prescott has been fairly efficient this season.
He did have a critical turnover and struggled to move the chains in their loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but he’s done an O.K. job for the most part.
Still, Lance could be a solid insurance policy for Jerry Jones’ team in case Prescott falls short of the expectations again this season.
And while he’s quite unlikely to take the field for America’s team this season, he could be a low-key impactful factor ahead of their most important game of the regular season with everything he knows about his former team.
