The Dallas Cowboys were one of the NFL’s best teams throughout the regular season.
They had a 12-5 record, which secured them the NFC East title and home-field advantage for their first playoff game.
While they found success during the regular season, they weren’t able to translate that into a great playoff performance.
They ended up losing to the Green Bay Packers in blowout fashion, ending their season far sooner than anyone expected.
After seeing how it played out, Troy Aikman, former Cowboys quarterback, had something to say about the team’s performance.
In his words, Aikman was “pretty shocked” to see their season end so quickly, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Troy Aikman “pretty shocked” at how the Cowboys’ season ended: “I really liked this team all year long.”
“They just have not, for whatever reasons, played their best football when the games matter most. … What the answer is to that, I’m not sure.” https://t.co/SHP4w6fddW

He later said, “They just have not, for whatever reasons, played their best football when the games matter most.”
While Aikman, other analysts, and fans agree that the Cowboys dominated in the regular season, there seemed to be a switch that flipped off in the postseason.
This is something that has plagued the team since Dak Prescott became their quarterback, a trend the team is trying to buck moving forward.
They have one of the best overall rosters in the NFL, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Something has to change for this team, although they haven’t been able to figure out what that is, at least in the playoffs.
For now, the team is committed to Mike McCarthy as their head coach and Prescott as their quarterback.
It will be interesting to see if that changes after the 2024 season, especially if the year ends similarly.
