After a failed experiment with Sam Howell, who they traded to the Seattle Seahawks recently, the Washington Commanders are searching for their new man under center, with the storied franchise desperately wanting to right the ship next season.
With the team armed with the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the team will almost certainly take a quarterback once they’re on the clock, with all signs pointing to the team taking Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or J.J. McCarthy.
Even though Washington has already signed veteran journeyman Marcus Mariota to presumably be a stopgap and will likely take one of the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming draft, the team seems to still be doing its due diligence on the quarterback position.
According to Around The NFL, the Commanders recently got a look at Miami Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s brother, Taulia.

Although Taulia Tagovailoa isn’t considered to be one of the best prospects at the position this year, he could still make an NFL team and potentially make an impact, which likely led to the Commanders being willing to check him out.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Dolphins superstar’s brother gets any major consideration from NFL teams.
As for the Commanders, the team is hoping to turn the corner sooner rather than later, with the franchise’s new ownership group led by Josh Harris being aggressive in their efforts to put the best product possible on the field moving forward while building for a promising future.
