With superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers set to return to the field for the New York Jets next season, the team has tried to put as much talent around him as possible during this NFL offseason in hopes that the team can get back to title-contending status with the four-time NFL MVP leading the way under center.
Along with adding another talented wide receiver into the mix with the addition of Mike Williams alongside Garrett Wilson, the Jets have beefed up their offensive line, making a big splash recently in NFL free agency with the signing of veteran left tackle Tyron Smith, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys.
The Jets’ offensive line has been arguably their biggest problem over the last few seasons, and the last thing they want to do is not be able to protect Rodgers, who is coming off an Achilles injury that cost him the entire 2023 campaign.
With Smith being the most significant addition to the team along with Williams, the five-time All-Pro recently talked about teaming up with Rodgers after playing against him for so long while he was with the Cowboys and the superstar quarterback was with the Green Bay Packers via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.
“I played against Aaron. I know what kind of quarterback he is and I know what he can do if you give him a little bit of time,” Smith said.

With the Jets brass making a real effort to put some talent around Rodgers for the 2024 NFL season, it’ll be interesting to see if this team can live up to expectations and make an impact in the AFC.
Only time will tell if Rodgers is the same player after the Achilles injury and if he’s got the weapons to make New York a legitimate title contender.
