In the mid-2010s, the Cleveland Guardians developed a true star.
Shortstop Francisco Lindor graduated from an exciting rookie to a big star who played a huge role in a World Series run in 2016.
He went on to have a very productive stint in Cleveland before being traded in 2021.
Now, after three years, the prodigal son returns.
He will do so in a New York Mets uniform, but Guardians fans likely won’t forget his contributions to the 2010s and early-2020s teams.
MLB Network reminded us all about Lindor’s return to Cleveland and some of his achievements there.
They posted a video for all to see, with some of Lindor’s best moments in a Guardians uniform.
“Francisco Lindor returns to Cleveland for the first time since being traded in 2021! In six seasons, he made 4 All-Star Games, won 2 Gold Glove Awards and finished Top-10 in AL MVP voting 3 times,” they tweeted.

That’s quite a resume right there.
Lindor was a four-time All-Star in Cleveland, and won two Gold Gloves.
He was also a top-three AL MVP player on three separate occasions.
He can do it all on a baseball field: hit for average, show some power and speed, be a leader, and wow the world with his incredible glove.
Now, he is doing all those things in a Mets uniform, but still has love and respect for the city of Cleveland and everything it represents.
The circumstances of his departure were strictly baseball-related: he wanted a big extension and the Guardians were unwilling to give him one.
It’s understandable on all sides, and he ended up signing a big contract with the Mets.
Everybody got what they wanted, as the Guardians received Andres Gimenez and other useful players.
The Cleveland crowd should welcome Lindor back with applause.
