The New England Patriots hit a new low in Week 10 of the 2023 NFL season as they flopped in their overseas matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Patriots lost 10-6 and dropped to 2-8 before their bye week, a precarious position to be in for a franchise that is used to winning.
Bill Belichick has had the roughest season in memory given that his team fails to show anything to hang their hat on weekly.
Against Indianapolis, New England simply couldn’t string together many meaningful drives as Mac Jones struggled to find anything downfield.
Jones shouldn’t take all of the blame for the offense’s lack of cohesion as the offensive line hasn’t given him much time to work in the pocket.
However, Jones also didn’t help his case as he made several poor decisions that eventually led to a blowup from offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien via Michael Hurley of CBS.

In the clip, O’Brien is seen going over a play with Jones on the bench to which he then starts shouting and pointing at the tablet.
O’Brien hasn’t been very creative with his play calls, but even he has reason to be upset with Jones given some of the throws he was making on the field.
Jones eventually got benched for Bailey Zappe toward the end of the game, but he didn’t fare any better as he threw a pick that ended the game for New England.
Fortunately for the Patriots, they get the bye week to hopefully clear their heads and reset.
