The Dallas Cowboys lost their bell-cow running back years ago.
Even when he was still there, Ezekiel Elliott was no longer the player he used to be, which is why they parted ways with him.
However, a year with Tony Pollard in his place proved that they still needed that kind of punch, so they decided to bring him back after a brief tenure with the New England Patriots.
Needless to say, Elliott only has more mileage under his belt and might not be able to be the difference-maker they need right now, but he’s leaving it all on the field to be the best player he can possibly be.
That was shown in a clip shared by 3 Hunnid Guru on social media (via Dov Kleiman), as Elliott is clearly putting in some overtime to be in his best shape.

Elliott struggled to find another team last offseason and had to wait until training camp to get a chance.
He drew criticism for being seemingly out of shape and slightly overweight, but he was still a factor for Bill Belichick’s team, particularly late in the season when Rhamondre Stevenson fell with an injury.
Of course, expecting him to carry the load in Dallas next season is just not realistic.
But even though that running back-by-committee approach might not be what the fans want to see, he could still be a factor in goal-line situations because of his sheer and raw power.
At least you know he’s going to leave everything on the field.
