The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t need to add a lot of pieces to their roster this offseason.
Even though losing L’Jarius Sneed was a big blow, they didn’t even need to go after a big-name defensive back.
However, they had a glaring need for a wide receiver, and even though they had already added Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown to the mix, Rashee Rice’s legal turmoil made it more than clear that they needed to add more depth to their WR corps.
With that in mind, they traded up to make sure to get the fastest wideout in NFL Scouting Combine history.
Notably, it didn’t take long before Xavier Worthy showcased his speed in front of his new teammates, with the Chiefs sharing a clip of him running routes at the rookie minicamp.

Worthy was a standout at Texas, and with Hollywood Brown’s durability concerns and the lack of competition, he should be featured in Andy Reid’s offense right away.
The Chiefs had the fastest wide receiver in the game in Tyreek Hill, and they haven’t had a reliable pass-catcher at WR since he was traded to the Miami Dolphins.
Even so, they’ve still managed to win consecutive Super Bowls, and they will continue to be the team to beat in the league until proven otherwise.
So, with a guy who was clocked running a 4.21 40-yard dash and Patrick Mahomes more than eager to rip the football down the field once again, their pursuit for the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat just got a massive reinforcement.
