The Minnesota Vikings can’t catch a break this season.
If things weren’t complicated enough for Kevin O’Connell’s team, they will now have to be without their best player for at least the next four games.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings will have to place star WR Justin Jefferson on Injured Reserve (IR) with a hamstring injury he suffered during Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

That means the LSU standout will miss the next four games at the very least, meaning he won’t be on the field to face the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and Atlanta Falcons.

Needless to say, this is a deadly blow to a team that had gotten off to a 1-4 start to the season.
Their only win came against the still-winless Carolina Panthers, and while they’ve been able to compete and move the chains, their defensive struggles haven’t done a lot to help them.
The passing game was firing at all cylinders, but turnovers and a poor running game also stepped in their way more often than not.
Now, they’ll have to rely on K.J. Osborn and rookie Jordan Addison, who paced the team with six grabs for 64 yards and a score on Sunday. Also, TE T.J. Hockenson should be way more involved in the passing game in the meantime.
Jefferson had 36 catches for 571 yards, averaging a whopping 15.9 yards per catch and three scores through the first five weeks of the season, proving again to be one of the best players in the game.
