When most NFL fans think of Warren Sapp, they’re likely reminded of his dominant days as a defensive tackle.
Sapp was the Defensive Player of the Year in 1999, a Super Bowl champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a four-time first-team All-Pro.
His NFL career is undeniable, and he will certainly go down as one of the best defensive players of the last thirty years.
While he is an NFL legend, Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk recently highlighted that Sapp is testing new waters.
Sapp is joining Deion Sanders at the University of Colorado as their newest coach.

In a recent video, when asked about his role within the team, Sapp called it a “Senior quality control analyst.”
What this role looks like remains to be seen, but adding Sapp could be another positive part of the new-look Colorado football team.
The Buffaloes aren’t traditionally known as a football powerhouse, but Sanders did a lot for the program in his first year as their head coach.
If Sapp and Sanders can keep the momentum going, imparting wisdom to these players from their time in the NFL, this team’s trajectory could skyrocket over the next year.
Sapp doesn’t have any coaching experience at the collegiate level, so it will be interesting to see how he fits in and how well the players respond to him and his leadership.
Being an NFL legend should help his credibility with these athletes, especially since Sanders seems to have nothing but good things to say about him.
