The New York Yankees dropped their second game of the season on Friday.
They were blanked, 3-0, by the Toronto Blue Jays, and the entire offense accumulated just six hits.
It was another disappointing game for designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton.
Hitting cleanup, the veteran slugger went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Friday.
His season line dropped to .125/.160/.292.
While he has a double and a home run, his plate discipline has been abysmal: one walk and 13 strikeouts.
Fans are starting to lose patience, and manager Aaron Boone had to stand up for his player during the postgame press conference.
“He can be streaky like that. Once he gets it going, hop on,” Boone said, per SNY on Twitter.

To be fair, only a week has passed since the season started.
There is a lot of ground to cover, and things can change if Stanton ever gets into a rhythm.
Fans, however, still have his horrible 2023 performance in mind and are afraid he can’t right the ship.
Last year, the former NL MVP slashed a putrid .191/.275/.420 with a .695 OPS.
Even if the end of spring training was somewhat promising for him, the start of the season has been rough.
He just seems like a shell of himself, but again, things can change.
For Stanton, it will be crucial to have the support of the skipper, and that certainly was the case on Friday.
It might be too early to panic, but Yankees supporters are starting to become anxious when he is at the plate.
