The New York Yankees have seemingly mismanaged Aaron Judge’s injured abdomen/oblique in spring training.
It should be no surprise for a team that badly mishandled his 2023 toe injury, even initially diagnosing it as a sprain when it was actually a tear.
Judge felt something in his abdomen on Sunday, March 10.
That was the last time he played in a spring training game.
The next day, he underwent an MRI to check the abdomen muscles, and it came back clean.
Since then, the Yanks have been scheduling days for him to return to batting practice and then live games, but then they pull him.
On Monday, according to the YES Network via SNY, the team provided a new return date for the slugger.
“Aaron Boone says Aaron Judge should return to the lineup on Wednesday,” SNY Yankees tweeted.

Let’s see if they are right this time.
Meanwhile, the player has insisted that he will be ready for Opening Day on March 28, and has stated that if this were the regular season, he would have returned by now.
The team might be exercising an abundance of caution with its star player, given his recent injury history.
He was limited to 106 games last year with a strained hip and the aforementioned torn ligament in his right big toe.
The Yankees will already be without top pitcher Gerrit Cole for the next 1-2 months as he recovers from an elbow injury.
Losing Judge for an extended period at the same time would be a catastrophic blow to their chances.
