The Baltimore Ravens were so close to the ultimate stage last season.
They had the best record in the league, they also boasted the best defense, and they had the MVP looking better than ever as a passer.
On top of that, they had a promising and exciting rookie wide receiver wreaking havoc in Zay Flowers.
However, as good as he was throughout the year, the Boston College product also had a key mistake when it mattered the most, fumbling the ball just outside of the end zone in the fourth quarter.
The Kansas City Chiefs recovered for a touchback and wound up securing a 17-10 win that put an end to the Ravens’ promising season.
It’s been months since that day, but Flowers recently admitted that he still hasn’t forgotten about that (via ProFootballTalk):
“Honestly, I still [haven’t] gotten over it,” Flowers said, via a transcript from the team. “I still think about it, but I know next year, we have a chance to get back there and try to make it to the Super Bowl, so that’s why I’m working every day and going hard every day to get back to that moment.”

Fortunately for him, he’s going to have plenty of opportunities to redeem himself, not only next season but in the future.
Now locked in as the clear-cut No. 1 option in the passing game, the he is expected to have another breakout season in year two.
The Ravens’ offense looked way more balanced in the first year of Todd Monken as their offensive coordinator, and with all the reports about Lamar Jackson being slimmer and faster, that should open up plenty of space for the passing game as well.
Some analysts expect the Ravens to regress next season, and they do play in a tough division, but if Jackson manages to stay healthy, they will always stand a chance to reach the final game of the campaign.
